Teens, we’re all ears

National Youth Week 2012National Youth Week is 13 to 22 April and Australia’s new website for parents of teenagers, The Kids Are All Right, is getting onboard.

We‘re giving you, Australian teenagers, the chance to tell us parents anything you’d like us to know.

Write about social networking, school, privacy, friends, parties, relationships…. anything you’d say if you knew we couldn’t interrupt.

We will select five articles to publish during Youth Week, and those five writers will also receive a $30 iTunes gift card. All articles received will be published over the coming months.

Why enter?

  1. To tell parents something you’ve always wanted to tell them, something you think they need to hear.
  2. To have your article published on a website read by thousands of parents.
  3. For the chance to win a $30 iTunes gift card.

To enter:

  1. You need to be aged between 12 and 18, on 1 January 2012 – please include your date of birth with your article.
  2. Write between 200 and 500 words.
  3. Email your article to contact@thekidsareallright.com.au before 5.00pm (AEST) Thursday 12 April 2012 – that’s very soon!

You don’t need to be the best speller, or the best writer – just write from the heart and mean what you say.

It’s up to you whether you put your name to the article or not – you can use a pseudonym if you like. But you will need to give us your real name to be in the running for an iTunes gift card. All winners will also have to verify their age by emailing a scanned or photographed copy of their student card or birth certificate. Your personal details will not be passed on to any third party, and they will not be kept in our systems after 30 April 2012. Please read our privacy policy for further information.
