PLEASE HELP - I need suggestions of GIFTS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS & GUYS

Hi Parents, can I have your help please?
I need suggestions of GIFTS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS & GUYS for our new Pinterest. Check us out at http://pinterest.com/kidsareallright/

Could you please tell me what your daughter/son and their friends are into, and maybe where I can get it from?

Ideally for Pinterest I need an online source. If you don't have an online source don't worry, just hit me up with a list of suggestions and your teen's age. We need everything from 'cheap and cheerful' through to more expensive presents.

Thank you so much for your help ! Really appreciate it.

hi cammeray mum.this may not help but i have found that teenage girls(any age) like anything that has pictures of paris or london on it.usually when my son's go to a friends for a birthday, they always give money and so does everyone else.a lot of boys are into xbox games and playstation games.girls like shopping so gift cards are a good thing but get the type where they can spend at a shopping centre in any of the stores.this may not be much help but this is all i can think of at the moment.good luck.

One word: Smiggle. If I could buy my daughter a Smiggle store for Christmas, she would love me forever....

Maybe check out red cross or some of the foundations that source product- fashion, accessories etc- from small 3rd world communities. I'm sorry I can't recall and exact examples but I know I've seen them, they sell everything from handmade cultural dolls to jewellery and clothes. Might be a bit out of the box

http://www.kaleidoscopeglobal.com.au/belts.html - these are pretty! Teens schmeens, I want one myself
http://www.tribesandnations.com.au/Products.aspx?id=79 - cute floor rug, perfect for teen retreat

I just googled 'fair trade gifts' to find those, they are from the first few links and it looked like there were a few more!

ThinkGeek has heaps of stuff that all 3 of my kids covet.* Their t-shirts are wonderful. Unfortunately shipping to Australia is ludicrous but if you plan ahead and aren't just buying one thing at a time it works out ok. I usually stock up on extra gifts once a year and keep them tucked away in The Stash until needed.

*Yeah, it's the kids. Our collection of ThinkGeek loot has nothing to do with my husband and I falling in geek lust with half the stuff on the site. Nothing at all.

LOL :-) No, I'm rationing them out slowly to maintain the illusion of knowing my way around the interwebs ;-)

Oh dear Mimbles you seem to have sent me broke. The Doctor shirts look AWESOME! For my daughter of course.... though of I accidentally order my size as well, that's not my fault is it?

Whoa Mimbles....I love ThinkGeek :: Stuff for Smart Masses Very cool.
I'm checking out the T-shirts now and know one 11 year old boy who would love the Minecraft Creeper one.
Thank you so much for suggesting.
I know shipping costs are crazy but as you say, if you stock up and do it in one hit, you've got yourself some very cool swag to last through out the year. Looks like Naturalaussie Mum and Sydney Mum are giving their credit cards a work out.

Parents, if you check out Think Geek and REALLY like something let me know and I'll add it to http://pinterest.com/kidsareallright/
Also, if you have any other GREAT GIFT IDEAS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS AND GUYS let me know. I'm sitting here ready for your suggestions (well, I might go grab a cuppa, put on a load of washing, feed the kids......you get the drift).

Re: PLEASE HELP - I need suggestions of GIFTS FOR TEENAGE GIRLS & GUYS

I've got a bit of free time on my hands this morning, so here comes a gift ideas brain dump :-)

    Some of my ThinkGeek favourites:
    Giant plush microbes
    Common cold microbe soap dispenser
    Space themed origami pack
Smelly pencils. Ms13 has had several packs of these over the years
Gamer keyboard. Mr15 just bought himself this one
No Christmas is complete without a cylon snowman (you can switch its eyes to red)
Guitar pick punch. For the muso in your house.

Sock Dreams has an amazing range of socks
    Rainbow over the knee socks
    Cupcakes!

We Love Colors does awesome tights in all sizes, and there's free shipping to Australia each winter, this year's code is WeLoveAus2012
Witchy striped tights up to 11-14yrs size they come in adult sizes too.

KNUBBIG decorative lamp from Ikea - Ms13 has 2 of these in her bedroom, very cool mood lighting. Ikea has heaps of other styles and colours too.

Reed diffusers and candles. I get stuff from Partylite, they're a bit coy about pricing on the website and there's a reason for that, but it you host a show the deals are pretty good and the candles are REALLY good. Dusk might be an easier option - lamp shade candle holder.

Design your own tote bag at CafePress, their canvas totes are very good quality, I use them all the time when doing clothes/gift/office supplies shopping, much easier and nicer to carry around than the stores' plastic bags. If you don't feel up to the design your own thing there are squillions of other people's designs to pick from - just search on keywords and browse away: Cat themed bags
